Dr. Ebony Jade Hilton

Dr. Ebony Jade Hilton is a pioneering anesthesiologist, health equity advocate, and entrepreneur dedicated to bridging the gap between medicine and community. In 2013, she made history as the first African American female anesthesiologist hired at MUSC since its founding in 1824.

A nationally recognized voice in public health, Dr. Hilton has championed efforts to address racial health disparities, earning accolades such as the National Newspaper Publishers Association’s Leadership Award and recognition as a Top 40 Under 40 Leader in Health Care.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she became a leading medical commentator and strategist, organizing testing and vaccination efforts while promoting health literacy through her award-winning children’s book, We’re Going To Be OK. Her expertise has been featured on MSNBC, CNN, CBS, and in The New Yorker.

As co-founder of DUES By EJ, Deanna is redefining luxury medical scrubs alongside Dr. Jacqueline Walters and Dr. Ebony Jade Hilton, blending high fashion with function for healthcare professionals. She previously founded Circle One, Inc., a leader in consumer product marketing, earning multiple Supplier of the Year awards before a historic acquisition in 2012.

Beyond business, Deanna has advised organizations such as the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation and the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus. She serves as Board Chair of the Fearless Foundation and Vice-Chair of the National Black Empowerment Council, among other leadership roles.
